Memorial Day Weekend

For Memorial Day weekend, we headed over to a local state park for some fun and fellowship with several other homeschooling families.  Although I ended up spending a lot of one-on-one time with my biology textbook (finals coming up in two weeks!), I did get to take part in a few fun activities.

Benjamin hiding behind his book during the trip up.

Poor Timothy - hemmed in by all of our luggage.

Waiting for the ferry

Although it was raining, we had a beautiful sunset on Friday night.

We brought Pepper along this time!

Looking off into the sunset - last day

Memories...
- Beautiful sunset despite the rain
- Friends helping us set up our gear in the rain
- "I forgot the cooking stove!"
- The kindness of various families sharing their stoves and fuel with us
- Getting a jump for our car from the C--- family after our car battery died on the last day
- Encouraging conversations
- The rain stopping just in time for Sunday morning worship and sharing
- Sharing wisdom across generations
- 'God is in control, and we're not.'
- The unity of the body of Christ
- Catching crabs and ice-cream by the ocean
- Scared senseless by a bird!
- "Can I call you 'Jo'?" (asked by a 4-year-old)
- Sending in an online assignment via the voice-text feature on Papa's phone (I forgot my laptop)
- More time with my camera :)
- Standing in utter darkness, echoes reverberating off the stone walls of
the bunkers as we sang praise to God
